Privacy Policy
This policy describes what data Les Nants collects when you use our mobile applications (the "Apps") or visit lesnants.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Reading it takes about five minutes. If anything is unclear, write to us at the address in the Contact section, we answer.
If you are under 16, our Apps are not designed for you. Please do not use them, and if anything in this policy confuses you, ask a trusted adult.
1. Who is responsible for your data
Les Nants (also operating as LN Studio) is an app development studio based in Paris, France. Les Nants acts as the data controller for the processing described in this policy.
2. What we collect, and why
We designed our Apps to run on as little personal data as possible. We never collect your real name, address, or contact details unless you actively give them to us. What we work with falls into four groups.
2.1 Technical and device data
Collected automatically when the App runs: device model and operating system, system language, screen settings, time zone, available storage, battery level, connection type, IP address, device identifiers (IDFV on iOS, Android ID on Android) and, subject to your permission, the mobile advertising identifier of your device (IDFA on iOS, AAID on Android). These identifiers are managed by your operating system and you can reset or disable them at any time in your device settings.
Why: to make the App function, keep it secure, detect fraud and abuse, and measure that it works correctly. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating a functioning, safe product.
2.2 Activity data
How you move through the App: screens opened, features used, sessions started and completed, progress saved, interactions with any advertising shown.
Why: two distinct purposes with two distinct bases.
- Product improvement through our own internal analytics. This data stays with us, is not shared, and rests on our legitimate interest in understanding and improving what we build.
- Analytics and attribution through third-party tools, and personalized advertising. Where the law requires it, this only happens after you accept the consent notice shown in the App. Declining does not remove ads where ads exist; it makes them less relevant to you. You can change your choice at any time in the App's privacy settings.
2.3 Account data
Some Apps let you sign in with Apple or Google to sync and restore your progress across devices. When you do, we store your email address in hashed form, and nothing else from your account. We use it for account recovery and support. With your separate consent, we may also send you occasional emails about updates or offers for that App; every such email contains an unsubscribe link, and you can also opt out by contacting us. Transactional messages (for example, a confirmation you asked for) may still be sent after you unsubscribe from marketing.
2.4 Content you actively submit
Some Apps include journals, notes, or community features. What you write there is stored to provide the feature and is not used for advertising. Some Apps include an optional photo-based feature (see section 3).
3. Photo and Body Scan features
This section applies only to those of our Apps that include an optional photo analysis feature (for example, a fitness "Body Scan").
If you choose to use such a feature, you capture or select one photo, which may include your face. The photo serves a single purpose: generating the assessment shown back to you in the App (for example, posture and build feedback). To produce it, the photo is transmitted over an encrypted connection to our backend and passed to our AI provider (OpenAI), which returns the analysis and does not use API data to train its models.
We do not create or store any faceprint, facial-geometry template, or other biometric identifier. The photo is deleted as soon as the analysis is returned; it is not written to any database and is not retained on our servers. It is never used for identification, advertising, or model training. You can contact us at any time to request deletion of any related data.
4. Who receives data, and under what conditions
We do not sell personal data. We share it only in the following situations:
Service providers working for us. Hosting, payment infrastructure (purchases themselves are processed by Apple or Google), subscription management, customer support tooling. These providers act on our instructions under contract.
Attribution and analytics partners. They help us measure where our users come from and how the Apps are used, through their SDKs embedded in the Apps. Where consent is legally required, their data collection starts only after you accept the in-app notice. Our current partners and their privacy policies:
- Adjust (attribution): https://www.adjust.com/terms/privacy-policy/
- Amplitude (product analytics): https://amplitude.com/privacy
- RevenueCat (subscription management): https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy
Advertising partners. Where our Apps run advertising or ad measurement, the following partners may process device data under the same consent rule:
AI providers. Solely for the photo features described in section 3.
Authorities. When the law obliges us to, and no further.
A future acquirer. If Les Nants is ever merged, acquired, or sells assets, data may transfer to the new entity; we would inform you of any material change in how it is used.
5. How long we keep data
Only as long as the purpose requires. In practice: user-level data is deleted or anonymized within 13 months, except internal first-party analytics data, which may be kept up to 25 months in line with the guidance of our supervisory authority. Photos processed under section 3 are deleted immediately after analysis. Hashed account emails are kept while your account exists.
6. Where data goes
Some providers listed above operate outside the European Union. When data leaves the EU, we rely on an adequacy decision of the European Commission where one exists, or on appropriate safeguards such as the Commission's standard contractual clauses.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR and equivalent laws, you can ask us at any time to:
- Tell you whether we hold data about you, and give you a copy
- Correct or complete it
- Delete it
- Restrict or object to a given processing
- Hand it over in a portable format when processing rests on consent or contract
Two things you can do without even contacting us: withdraw consent in the App's privacy settings, and reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device settings, which unlinks previously collected advertising data from your device.
To exercise any right, email us at [email protected]. We reply within the timeframes the law sets. If you are unsatisfied, you may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority; ours is the French CNIL, www.cnil.fr.
8. Security
We apply technical and organizational measures appropriate to the data we handle: encryption in transit, access controls, minimization by design. No system is invulnerable, and we cannot promise absolute security, but we can promise we collect little enough that the stakes stay low.
9. Children
We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has used one of our Apps, contact us and we will delete the associated data.
10. Cookies and the website
lesnants.com is an informational site. It collects standard connection logs (anonymized IP, browser user agent) needed to serve pages, and may use privacy-configured analytics to measure traffic. You can block cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.
11. Changes to this policy
When we update this policy we publish the new version here with a new date. Continued use of the Apps after a change means the updated policy applies.
